Posted Position Title: Design Engineer

Essential Responsibilities
1. Working closely with systems teams in requirements gathering and software design
2. Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms
3. Designing and building strong testing infrastructure to minimize dependency on hardware availability
4. Leveraging DFR for software, Agile and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle
5. Develop key components for software platform teams. Ex- For distributed communication, OS fine tuning, OS/App security features, image processing elements, efficiency tools…

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering/MCA.
• Good knowledge of C/C++ on a Linux/Unix Operating System.
• 2-4 Year of product development experience in complex software systems along with exposure to PC Hardware.
• Experience in platform and application development using OOAD/UML and exposure to design tools like Rational Rose or Rhapsody.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving & debugging skills
• Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as Clear-Case
• Excellent written, communication and inter-personal skills

Desired Characteristics
1. Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related computer field
2. Experience in software platforms & PC hardware platforms.
3. Experience in platform and application development
4. Exposure to design patterns is an added advantage.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality, Tools and/or LEAN processes
6. Prior experience in healthcare domain would be an added advantage
